MISSION STATEMENT

Statement of Faith

There is one true and living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, all knowing and all powerful, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

(Duet. 6:4; Is. 43:10; Mark 12:29; 2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:16)

That mankind, created in God's image, is separated from God by sin, requiring redemption; that is appointed unto man once to die, and after that to face final judgment.

(Rom. 3:23; 6:23; Heb.9:27)

That God, in His grace, mercy and love, offered up His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the sin debt for our redemption, not because we deserve it, but because we need it.

(John 3:16; Eph. 2:8)

That Jesus Christ is God's Son, eternal Creator in human flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary to live a perfect life, die in our place, and rise again to deliver us from the power and condemnation of sin; that He is the only means for the redemption of man and that no one comes to the Father except by Him.

(Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:18; 3:17; Luke 1:35; John 14:6; Col. 1:13-14)

That Jesus Christ is now our Advocate and Mediator before God the Father, making intercession for us and that He will physically return to Earth to take His Church unto Himself.

(John 14:3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Tim. 2:5; 1 John 2:1)

That in order to receive redemption and enjoy a right relationship with God, now and hereafter, we must repent of the way of sin and voluntarily receive the benefits of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ; that we must confess him as LORD and believe that He is truly risen, alive, unchanged today, and that He will impart the new birth of spiritual life to as many as receive Him.

(Rom. 10:9-13; Acts 3:19-20; Acts 4:12)

That there is eternal condemnation, torment and separation from God (Lake of Fire) for those who reject His free pardon, and that it is not God's will for any to suffer this.

(Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 20:15)

That the Body of Christ is the Church universal, established by Jesus Christ who is its Head, and that the WOLC is a local expression and vital part of that Body.

(1 Cor. 12:12-13; 27)

That the Holy Bible is God's infallible, unchanging Word, and is the valid basis and rule of faith and practice for the Church.

(2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 2:2; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

That Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, that the Holy Spirit is given to the Church to abide forever, and that the Holy Spirit's gifts and ministries (the weapons of our warfare) are God's provision for the Church from the day of its founding until the end of the Church Age.

(John 14:16, 26; 15:26; Heb. 13:8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31; 2 Cor. 10:4)

That the enduement from on high with the power of the Holy Spirit is a heavenly gift available to each redeemed child of God who will ask, and that Jesus Christ is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 1:5-8; Rom. 8:9)

That the mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ; armed with spiritual weapons, destroying the works of the devil; and that Jesus will confirm the Word with signs and wonders.

(Acts 2:22, 43; 4:30-31; 2 Tim. 4:2; 1 John 3:8)

That all the requirements of the law and teachings of the prophets are fulfilled if we love God, and our neighbors as ourselves, with the agape love of God that only he put within us.

(Matt. 19:19; 1 John 4:7-21)
